Provence Cycling Trip May 2004

Wood asparagus in St Remy de Provence

The Pope’s Palace in Avignon

Best strawberries ever: Garriguettes. If I could smuggly some seeds here I darn sure would!

Mom and Dad: Aren’t they handsome?

Valerie and Jerome: Aren’t they cute?

Biker dudes

More to make you hungry

This was on the way to Mt Ventoux- mom drove the team car and barked

strategy instructions into our earpieces. We had stopped at this intersection

for elevensies. The base of the mountain was still another 10-15 miles

from here.

Here’s a shot up the mountain, not too far from the summit

I think by this time, Spider had already summitted the

mountain 3 or 4 times, and kept careening back down

to where T & I were trudging along to tell us how nice

it was at the top.

Luncheon at the team car, at the top of Ventoux, where T told us just

what he thought about the idea of “going down and coming back up one more time.”

As you can see, I was mid-expletive.

The bottom of the descent. It was Cold and Fast. Dad was already at

the café you see on the left, having a cup of café crème.

If you rode it, you pack it.

Mom at some café, in some small town

Oh yeah, it was at Fontaine de Vaucluse.

Eventually we made our way back to Paris, took more pictures of

Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower, and had a wonderful time.

We sure didn’t want to come home.
